Promoting Gender Equality

Frielle signs the MoD's Women in Defence Charter.

In September, Frielle proudly became the latest signatory to the Ministry of Defence's Women in Defence Charter - reinforcing our commitment to gender balance.

The MoD's 'Women in Defence Charter' is one of the largest independent networks of individuals and organisations, dedicated to celebrating women's achievements across all areas of defence. The initiative promotes its goals through well attended events, mentoring programs, and awards.

Launched in 2019 by Anne-Marie Trevelyan, Minister for Defence Procurement, the Charter requires both public and private defence organisations to establish clear, measurable objectives for advancing gender equality, and progress is assessed annually to ensure accountability. By increasing female representation across all areas of defence, the Charter seeks to make the sector more appealing and accessible to women.

Over 100 organisations have so far signed the Charter, showcasing a collective commitment to meaningful change and creating environments where women have more opportunities to succeed. Frielle is proud to stand with these organisations in championing gender equality in the workplace, and we have established specific goals to uphold the Charter's principles.

At Frielle, we are dedicated to our people, values and meaningful projects. And by signing the Women in Defence Charter, we are proud to play a part in furthering gender equality within the UK defence ecosystem.
